What is America in Bloom?
America In Bloom is an organization dedicated to promoting nationwide beautification programs and both personal and community involvement through the use of flowers, plants, trees and other environmental and lifestyle enhancements, and to providing educational programs and resources to that end. In 2009 the City of Springfield will be judged in the 100,001 to 300,000 population category in the areas of Floral Displays; Tidiness; Landscaped Areas; Urban Forestry; Heritage; Community Involvement; Turf & Groundcovers and Environmental Effort.

What is Springfield in Bloom?
Beginning in 2007 our annual street-side beautification program is now known as Springfield in Bloom. Along with our goal of encouraging home and business owners and neighborhood groups to make landscape improvements where none were done before, we also want to recognize individuals, businesses and neighborhoods where existing garden projects are providing inspiration to others. Springfield in Bloom is all about encouraging clean, green and bloomin’ beautiful street-side beautification across central Illinois.
