PLANT THE TOWN RED
It’s time to Plant the Town RED! Join us in preparation for the America In Bloom judge’s visit as we blanket the city in red flowers this season for entry in this national beautification contest. Last fall 15,000 Red Oxford tulip bulbs were planted around the city and are now about to make their spring debut. Check out our official plant list and visit one of the many local nurseries that carry these varieties so you can plant red too. Also see our list for season-long container plantings and the online Trading Post where you can share or request material for your yard.

What is Springfield in Bloom?
Beginning in 2007 our annual street-side beautification program is now known as Springfield in Bloom. Along with our goal of encouraging home and business
owners and neighborhood groups to make landscape improvements where none were
done before, we also want to recognize individuals, businesses and neighborhoods
where existing garden projects are providing inspiration to others.
Springfield in Bloom is all about encouraging clean, green and bloomin’
beautiful street-side beautification across central Illinois.
